One Love…

So yesterday I wrote about the Grand Sextile configuration of Planets that was happening up in the sky above us.  If you believe such things, we here on Earth enjoyed a veritable deluge of Yin energy, as Planets were happily vibrating in each of the Water Signs and Earth Signs of the Zodiac.  I was hardly the only one to write about this, either: the internet was lit up with articles and posts from people everywhere about the unusual phenomenon.

And as evidence of how unusual such a planetary configuration is, lots of those articles and posts — including mine — made reference to the fact that the last time the Earth was treated to a Grand Sextile was February 7, 1945…the late throes of World War II, during which time, the Allied leaders met in Yalta to begin to determine the fate of a free, post-Nazi world.

Our previous Grand Sextile, in 1945: big things — like more freedom, and less Nazism — were afoot at the Yalta Conference…

At dinner last night, though, I enjoyed another one of those happy bits of “coincidence” ( = synchronicity) that I love so much…  Someone close to me here in LA pointed out, after having just watched a documentary this weekend on the following subject, that the previous Grand Sextile — which occurred on Feb. 7, 1945, remember — also happened to come into alignment a single day after our planet welcomed the arrival of the subject of that aforementioned documentary: a fresh newborn baby named Nesta Robert “Bob” Marley…

Maybe I’ll say that again: a singer and artist eventually beloved the entire world over made his entrance upon the stage of this planet on February 6, 1945…and less than a day later, the planets went into a harmonious alignment the likes of which we see only once or twice a century.

Bob Marley: harbinger of peace and love…

And so as much as I do appreciate the fact that the last Grand Sextile manifested itself in conjunction with the winding down of one of the worst conflicts this world has ever known…I appreciate just as much, if not more, knowing that the same Grand Sextile seemed to occur almost as an announcement of the birth of a man who in a lot of ways became a conduit for a global-scale message of peace and love.

I can’t imagine I’m the only one who would credit Bob Marley with bringing reggae music to the world, but I’d also say that while he undeniably played reggae, he also transcended the genre.  There was something above and beyond simple genre in his songs.  Plenty of other acts play reggae, and plenty of them even play it really, really well…but they don’t sound like Bob Marley.  Maybe that’s down to inherent genius on Bob’s part, or maybe it’s the energy of that Grand Sextile from nearly seven decades ago pouring through to nourish us all every time someone puts the metaphorical needle to the metaphorical and literal grooves of one of Bob’s recordings…

Now, obviously, it’s not like Bob Marley was the only kid born that day, or the day of the Grand Sextile, or the day immediately after it…but he is the only truly great artist who was born that day and who was mentioned to me as having been born that day, while I was engaged in a conversation about that Grand Sextile.  To me that’s all very noteworthy!

So while the results and distinct individual manifestations of yesterday’s Grand Sextile may not become immediately apparent to us all, I’d like to believe that not only will large-scale conflicts now finally be subsiding toward their conclusions as happened in 1945, but also that without our even knowing it just yet, we’ve already begun to welcome new artists and prophets and messages of peace.  Maybe once again, Six Planets = One Love…
